Galini Breeze was never imagined as a large resort.
From the beginning, the idea was simple: a small adults-only retreat above the Libyan Sea where guests could slow down, sleep well, and experience a quieter side of Crete.
With only four studios, the atmosphere remains personal and relaxed. Guests are welcomed directly by the owners, who oversee the property themselves and continue to shape it with care, simplicity, and attention to detail.
Set on the hillside above the village, the property consists of four independent studios surrounded by sea views, a lush garden with native plants, and the warm light of South Crete. Mornings begin slowly on shaded terraces, afternoons drift between the pool and the sea, and evenings belong to the harbour below, where tavernas, fishing boats, and small cafés still shape daily life. The nights sky can be enjoyed from the roof top terrace on top of every studio.
About The Owners
Erik and Julia are the owners and hosts of Galini Breeze, personally overseeing the property with the kind of hands-on attention that naturally comes with a small-scale retreat.
Originally from the Netherlands, the couple spent many years building and running a family business before gradually feeling drawn toward a different pace of life — one centered less around constant movement and more around hospitality, simplicity, and time spent outdoors.
Their search for the right place led them through several countries before they eventually discovered Agia Galini. The peaceful hillside setting, the warmth of South Crete, and the quiet character of the village lured them in.
Since taking over Galini Breeze, Erik and Julia have carefully refined the property while preserving the calm and intimate atmosphere that first attracted them to it. Their philosophy remains intentionally simple: to create a welcoming adults-only retreat where guests can slow down, feel at ease, and experience a more authentic side of Crete.
